Zarucoffee is mother-owned and founded in the beautiful city of Zaruma, Ecuador. Here is where our two brands of Specialty Coffee were born, El Zarumeñito and Zaruma Gold Coffee, both run by Diana Aguilar.
Zaruma is located at 1,200 mamsl in El Oro Province, Ecuador between rich mountains of coffee and gold that make this city a unique and magical place. We have harvested and roasted a selection of the best coffee beans from the area for our iconic “El Zarumenito” brand, beloved by nationals.
Zaruma Gold Coffee is single-origin Arabica coffee exported to the United States. We offer 4 different varieties from each Ecuadorian region, Galápagos, Coastland, Highlands and Amazon as well as two blended varieties of Ecuadorian coffee. This brand is set to become the best cup of Ecuadorian coffee in the United States.
At Zaruma Gold Coffee, we believe that coffee and tea are not just drinks, but experiences. That's why we strive to create a warm and inviting space where our customers can relax and enjoy the subtle nuances of each cup. We believe that great coffee and tea should be savored, not rushed.
Zaruma is a city located in the El Oro province of Ecuador, where Diana Aguilar was born and started to work on her coffee dream as a mother of 4 children. Across the province, many coffee crops have been lost through the years. Plagues and attractive mining revenue discouraged farmers and for many years, coffee from Zaruma City was not available at grocers in Ecuador, even after being one of the most desired coffee regions in the country.
The consumer desire for this unavailable coffee is what inspired Diana Aguilar and her co-founders of Zarucoffee LLC to take on the challenging task to position Zaruma coffee in the national market again, this time with an international vision.
They began by encouraging existing coffee growers to better their practices by paying them above a fair trade certification price for their product and reaching out to the broader coffee community by attending coffee fairs, getting great response from farmers and coffee enthusiasts.
